This is used to prevent progression of arthritis in the young active patient with a history of failed prior meniscus surgery or a large irreparable meniscus tear.
In this procedure, a cadaver meniscus can be transplanted into the patient’s knee and sewed into position so that it can heal and function as a normal meniscus, thereby restoring near-normal joint mechanics.
